Sneferu is important in egyptian history because he developed the method of making true pyramids and made the first true pyramids himself. The volume of his his building projects was greater than that of any other paharaoh in the old kingdom.

Sneferu's three largest building projects were the step pyramid at maidum, the bent pyramid at att dahshur, and the first true pyramid, the red pyramid.

Sneferu was married to Hetepheres I. She was thought to be the daughter of Huni. His father-in-law might also have been his father. Having Hetepheres I with a wife and sneferu with a concubine. The mariage between the two is what allowed sneferu to rule.
