Mission:

My goal is to give the students the opportunity to express themselves through the use of a wide variety of media and techniques. Students learn about the elements and principles of design, and apply their knowledge to create very individual works of art. I also teach art history and expose the students to a wide variety of artists’ works through the use of PowerPoint presentations. Art reflects culture, so it gives students an understanding of other times and cultures. Art lessons are part of school-wide grade-level units, in keeping with MCCPS philosophy of integration of all subjects to promote students’ understanding and achievement.
