The following is a brief overview of the MCCPS PTO committees

These committees are fully functioning and/or ready to get off the ground.  If you’d like to get involved (and we wish you would!), please let us know.

Hospitality Committee
•    Organize PTO events, socials, etc.
•    Provide support for staff of MCCPS during school events
•    Recognition of community member personal events
•    Host teacher appreciation events

Grant Writing Committee
Kathy Cormier, Chair
•    Research available grants
•    Communicate grant information to staff
•    Perform/assist with grant writing function
•    Grant follow-up

Gardening Committee
•    Aide Mr. Ruth with tomato garden
•    Periodic clean-up of school grounds
•    Beautify school grounds
•    Assist with planning and execution of outdoor classroom*  (Grant Committee currently seeking funds for such)

Spirit Week Committee
•    Provide ideas, support, and manpower in conjunction with the staff of MCCPS during a celebratory week of special events

Parent Buddy Committee
•    As part of an ever evolving community, this committee would help support families new to MCCPS by way of a buddy system

T-Shirt/Merchandise Committee
Mira Bishop, Chair
•    Research MCCPS merchandise possibilities
•    Organize a competition to design a MCCPS logo

Yearbook Committee
Avery Russell, Chair
•    Take/gather pictures throughout the year of the amazing happenings at our school
•    Organize dedications and advertisements for the year
•    Assist with pre-orders and sale of yearbook

Library Committee
Elizabeth Lutwak, Chair
•    Assist with enhancement of literature at MCCPS
•    Assist with school book fairs
•    Gift Book Program
•    Arrange book swaps
•    Reading incentives for students

Fundraising Committee
•    Become part of a dynamic team ready to help organize FUNdraising events

Box Tops/Campbell’s Labels for Education
•    Collect and submit Box Top and Labels for one trimester
•    Advertise existence and potential of these terrific programs through the MCCPS community

Go-To Committee
•    If you are reluctant to commit to a specific committee or do not quite know where your strengths lie, this may be the committee for you
•    Become involved and assist the greater community whether you have an hour or a day to give.  Address a specific need or task when the school needs assistance.  You can tailor your participation to your schedule.

Many hands make light work!  Our emphasis is not on raising funds – though we obviously need money to exist.  Our aim is for 80% and a fun time to be had by all.
