Diary of a Wimpy Kid: Hard Luck by Jeff Kinney is a cleverly piece of realistic fiction.This book provides the reader with serious and humorous lessons in life. Greg, the main character, is an eighth grader that enjoys playing video games. Rowley, Greg’s best friend, abandons their friendship for a girl named Abigail . As a result, Greg will begin his search for new friends.

This book compares to the world I live in because you might lose your friends to someone else.The author makes you think that you are in the book because the character Greg is also the narrator which allows him to talk to the narrator. Some dislikes i have about the book is why would Rowley leave Greg for a girl that he has known for a year when he has known Greg since kinder garden.
