Hoot

Join Roy Eberhardt on his journey to save an entire species of owls from the bulldozers of Mother Paula’s Pancake House. In this book, Carl Hiaasen uses cliffhangers at the end of every chapter to keep the reader engaged. I really loved this book because I love animals. Hoot  is about a middle school boy named Roy that tries to save an entire species of owls with the help of Beatrice Leep´s stepbrother Mullet Fingers. This book shows that teamwork and determination are key to saving this planet. They must operate under cover because Beatrice’s stepbrother Mullet Fingers might go to jail for trespassing and vandalism.

This book changed my picture of what is necessary to the planet and what is out of your way to do what is right. I think that readers who like action and suspense would enjoy this book.I really loved this book because I love animals. This changed my picture because the main character steps out of his way to do what is right. I believe strongly that this is what I should do and what others to follow. The mood in this book is mysterious because Beatrice and Roy have to save the owls mysteriously.
