The Blood of Olympus

One of the most interesting books in the Heros of Olympus series The Blood of Olympus by Rick Riordan, is an action packed story full of adventure and excitement. If you haven’t read the other books in the Heroes of Olympus series here is what you missed. The world is not what it seems. It turns out that Greek and Roman gods, monsters, and mythical creatures are actually still living, however, humans can’t see them. When a God has a child with a human the child is called a demigod. They are called that because they have the powers of the god that was their parent, yet they are not a god. With monsters trying to kill gods and demigods, the greeks and the romans built two camps that would keep demigods safe from the monsters. Now, during the present day, a prophecy has been told saying that seven legendary heroes would have to travel to Athens Greece to stop Gaea from rising and destroying the world. But thats not the only adventure. Two demigods Nico, Reyan, and Coach Hedge who is a satyr which are half human half goat, travel back to Camp Half Blood with the Statue of Athena to stop a war from happening. During their travels, each group encounters many new characters including Nike, the goddess of victory and Orion, a titan that will stop at nothing to kill Reyan. Will each group be able to stop Gaea and a war from awaking in time or will all they know be lost?

The Blood of Olympus, the fifth book in the Blood of Olympus series, is an exhilarating read that will make you want to know more and more every page. It displays different perspectives on characters including Piper, Reyan, and Leo, however, some main characters don’t get a perspective. This novel was very good, though in my opinion the ending was anticlimactic compared to the whole series.  If you have read the Percy Jackson series or you love books with adventure this fantastic novel is the book for you.
