ATHLETICS

Athletics Program Overview

Our Athletics Program provides students in grades 5–8 with the opportunity to compete, grow, and build lifelong skills through interscholastic sports. We proudly offer three athletic seasons—fall, winter, and spring—giving students multiple opportunities to participate throughout the year.

In the fall, students may compete in coed soccer, girls cross country, and boys cross country. The winter season features girls basketball and boys basketball. In the spring, we offer coed flag football, girls track and field, and boys track and field.

All of our teams compete within the MCSAO Conference, emphasizing teamwork, sportsmanship, skill development, and school pride.

Athletics Policy

The district is committed to ensuring that all extracurricular activities—including intramural programs, interscholastic athletics, and student clubs—are fully accessible to every student. Participation requirements for all school-sponsored activities are designed and implemented in a manner that does not limit or restrict access on the basis of race, sex, gender identity, color, religion, national origin, sexual orientation, disability, or homelessness. The district actively works to remove barriers to participation by providing appropriate supports, accommodations, and inclusive practices so that all students can engage meaningfully in extracurricular opportunities.

In alignment with state and federal nondiscrimination laws, the district ensures that all students have the opportunity to participate on sports teams and in extracurricular programs consistent with their gender identity. The district fosters an inclusive and respectful environment in which students feel safe, valued, and supported in all aspects of school life, including athletics and extracurricular involvement. Policies and practices are regularly reviewed to maintain compliance and to promote equitable access for all students.
